Note: A reprint of both parts in a single volume is scheduled to appear in June 2006.

This set of books gives a quite complete course in all the common constructions and forms of the modern Bulgarian language. It starts with 62 lessons, each of which has abundant exercises of various types, and then has 60 pages of reading selections, mostly from Bulgarian literature. Each part has a Bulgarian-English vocabulary at the back. Tapes and additional materials for the books are available from the Foreign Language Center, The Ohio State University, Dieter Cunz Hall, 1841 Millikin Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43210. These books are a reprint, with some corrections by the authors, of two volumes originally published in Sofia in 1964 and 1968 under the title B''lgarski ezik, p''rva chast and vtora chast, with Milka Marinova listed first among the authors of the first part and Hubenova listed first among the authors of the second part. These books represent the most complete Bulgarian course available in English.

"...probably the best among the few existing Bulgarian texts for anglophones." (CSP)
